What is included?
Your sauna membership gives you three sauna credits every week.
One standard sauna booking uses one credit. Credits reset weekly on your billing date and cannot be accumulated, transferred or exchanged for cash.
Can I try the sauna before I buy a membership?
Absolutely! We offer casual sessions and 10-trip passes for you to test the waters before committing.
If I grab one of the Sauna memberships and then change my mind, what happens?
If you change your mind, no worries! You can then switch to one of our other plans, choosing between our current gym floor access or current class memberships. Note that the prices will be at the current displayed rates.
Can I use the sauna with a non-sauna membership?
Yes, subject to availability.
Current Revl members can purchase:
For non-members, a single-session pass is $27 and a 10-trip pass is $250.
How long is a sauna booking?
Each booking is 45 minutes. That includes your total booked time in the sauna area, so arrive ready and finish on time for the next member.
Recover like an athlete. Exit like a considerate human.
How many people can use each sauna?
The traditional sauna accommodates up to six people at a time. The infrared sauna accommodates up to two people.
How do I make a booking?
All sauna bookings are made through the Revl app. Your app will show the available sessions for each type of sauna and deduct the appropriate credit when you book.
What times will bookings be available?
The traditional sauna will open from 5.00am. To create more choice throughout the day, two new spaces will become available every 15 minutes, with the final booking beginning at 8.15pm.
The infrared sauna will open from 5.20am. Two spaces will be available in each 45-minute session, with the final booking beginning at 8.20pm.
The traditional sauna will close at 9pm, and the infrared sauna will close at 9.05pm each night.
Staggered start times allow more members to use the facilities without everyone arriving, showering and leaving at exactly the same time.
Can I book the infrared sauna privately?
Yes. A private infrared booking uses two credits and reserves the infrared sauna exclusively for you.
Private bookings:
Your booking is not confirmed until you receive written confirmation from Revl.
The traditional sauna cannot be reserved privately.
Can I bring someone to my private infrared booking?
Yes. A private infrared booking reserves the sauna for you, but it does not automatically include entry for a guest.
Your guest may join you provided they:
How far ahead can I book?
Bookings will open according to the booking window shown in the Revl app (8 days in advance).
What happens if I need to cancel?
Cancel through the Revl app at least four hours before your booking.
Cancellations made within four hours of the booking, or failure to attend, will incur a $15 late-cancellation or no-show fee. Your sauna credit will also be treated as used.
Only join a waitlist if you are prepared to attend. If a space becomes available, you may be added to the session automatically, including overnight. If you then do not attend, the no-show fee will apply.
The late-cancellation and no-show policy helps protect booking availability. Empty sauna seats are relaxing for nobody.
Do I lose my credit if I cancel on time?
No. When you cancel within the required notice period, your credit will be returned for use within the same weekly credit period. Credits do not roll over into a later week.
What if the sauna is full?
Join another available session or check the app again later for cancellations.
Limiting memberships and staggering bookings are both designed to create as much availability as possible, but preferred times cannot be guaranteed.
What happens if the sauna area closes unexpectedly or equipment is damaged?
If Revl cancels your booking because of maintenance, equipment issues or other operational reasons, your sauna credit will be returned to your account.
Please report any damaged or faulty equipment to Revl immediately and do not use it until advised that it is safe.
How do I enter the sauna area?
Access to the secure sauna area is controlled through the Revl app.
During your permitted booking window, the app will allow you to unlock the sauna-area doors provided:
Access is only available during the permitted entry period for your booking.
No active access. No valid booking. No magic door opening.
What happens if my membership payment is overdue?
Sauna access will be suspended until you have paid your overdue fees.
Once the outstanding payment has been resolved and your membership is active again, access can be restored.
Can I let another person through the door?
No.
Every person entering the sauna area must have their own valid booking or pass and approved access. Do not hold the door open for another person or allow anyone to enter using your access.
Allowing an unauthorised person into the sauna area is a serious breach of the sauna rules and may result in your sauna access or sauna membership being cancelled immediately.
Will the sauna area always be staffed?
No.
The sauna area and wider facility will be unstaffed at certain times. Members are responsible for following the rules, using the facilities safely and contacting emergency services when required.
For this reason, sauna access is limited to people aged 16 and over. Anyone aged 16 or 17 must also have written consent from a parent or legal guardian before using the sauna area.
What do I need for my session?
Bring:
One towel is for sitting on. The other is for drying off. Two towels. No negotiations.
Do I need to shower first?
Yes. Please shower before entering the sauna, particularly after training. This keeps the facilities fresh, hygienic and pleasant for everyone.
What should I wear?
Wear clean swimwear.
Underwear, outdoor clothing, dirty training gear and outdoor or training shoes are not permitted inside the sauna. And to be honest we’re not huge fans of speedos or G-strings either.
Avoid clothing with metal zips, buckles or accessories that may become hot.
Can I use the sauna naked?
No.
Revl is a shared community facility. Appropriate clothing must be worn at all times.
Can I take my phone inside?
No. Leave phones, watches and other electronics outside the sauna. There will be cubby holes provided especially for these items within the locked sauna zone.
Heat can damage devices, and photography or recording is not permitted in the changing or sauna areas.
Disconnect properly. Instagram will survive for 45 minutes.
Can I wear jewellery?
We recommend removing jewellery before entering the sauna. Metal can become very hot and may cause discomfort or burns.
Can I wear footwear inside the sauna?
Clean flip-flops, slides or water shoes may be worn if they are used only within the changing and recovery areas.
Outdoor shoes, training shoes and any dirty footwear are not permitted inside the sauna.
Any footwear worn inside must be clean, non-slip and suitable for a hot environment.
Can I exercise, sleep or lie down inside the sauna?
No. Exercising, sleeping or lying down are not permitted inside the sauna.
The space is designed for seated heat sessions. Movement inside a hot, shared space can increase the risk of dizziness, falls and disruption to other members.
Can I bring food or drinks inside?
Water in a suitable non-glass bottle is permitted and strongly encouraged. Food, alcohol, glass containers and other drinks are not permitted inside the sauna.
Can I talk or listen to music inside the sauna?
Yes. Friendly conversation is welcome, but please be mindful of others and keep voices at a comfortable level.
Phone calls, video calls, speakerphones, portable speakers and music played aloud are not permitted.
You may use headphones provided no one else can hear them, but please be aware that heat may damage electronic devices.
Can I pour water or oils onto the traditional sauna heater?
Water may only be poured onto the traditional sauna stones where Revl has specifically permitted it and only in the manner shown in the sauna instructions.
Essential oils, sprays, fragrances and other substances must not be used anywhere inside either sauna unless specifically supplied or approved by Revl.
When in doubt, leave the rocks alone.
Who should check with a health professional first?
Seek medical advice before using the sauna if you:
People with low blood pressure may be advised to avoid saunas because heat can worsen dizziness or fainting.
Heat may also change the release rate of some medicines delivered through skin patches, so members using a medicated patch should speak to their doctor or pharmacist before using the sauna.
Can I use the sauna while pregnant?
We recommend speaking with your midwife or doctor before using either sauna while pregnant.
Pregnancy can increase the risk of overheating, dehydration and fainting during sauna use.
Can I use the sauna when I am sick?
No. Do not use the sauna if you have a fever, contagious illness, vomiting, diarrhoea, significant infection or feel generally unwell.
Heat is not a substitute for rest, medical advice or staying home when you are contagious.
Can I use it after drinking alcohol?
No. Do not use the sauna while affected by alcohol or recreational drugs.
Alcohol can contribute to dehydration and impair your ability to recognise overheating, dizziness or other warning signs.
Can I use the sauna immediately after a hard workout?
You can use the sauna after training, but allow your heart rate and breathing to settle first.
Rehydrate, cool down and make sure you feel well before entering. Do not enter if you feel dizzy, nauseous, unusually fatigued or overheated.
More suffering is not always more progress.
How long should I stay inside?
Your booking lasts 45 minutes, but that does not mean you should sit in the heat continuously for 45 minutes.
New users should begin with shorter periods. We recommend spending no longer than 15 minutes in the sauna at a time. Take cooling breaks and gradually learn how your body responds. You are welcome to step out of the sauna to cool down, shower or take a break, then return during your booked session. Your booking will still finish at its scheduled time, so please leave the sauna area promptly for the next member.
Leave immediately if you feel uncomfortable.
What warning signs should I watch for?
Exit the sauna immediately if you experience:
Move to a cool area, sit or lie down safely and seek assistance. Call 111 for severe symptoms, chest pain, collapse, confusion or breathing difficulty.
Do not try to “push through.” This is recovery, not a test of character.
Do I need to drink water?
Yes.
Arrive hydrated, bring water and rehydrate afterwards.
Sauna use causes sweating and fluid loss. Avoid beginning a session when you are already dehydrated from exercise, illness, alcohol or inadequate fluid intake.
How often should I sauna?
There is no single ideal frequency for everyone.
Start with one or two sessions per week and see how you respond. Some experienced users may choose to attend more regularly, but more is not automatically better.
Your sauna membership includes up to three credits each week. You do not need to use all three simply because they are there.
Listen to your body. It is usually smarter than your ego.
What is the difference between the two saunas?
A traditional sauna heats the air around you, creating a hotter overall environment.
An infrared sauna uses infrared energy to warm the body more directly and generally operates at a lower air temperature.
Both create heat and sweating, but the experience feels different.
Which one feels hotter?
The traditional sauna will generally feel hotter because the surrounding air is heated to a higher temperature. The traditional sauna is generally dry, but water can be added to the heated stones to create short bursts of steam and humidity. This can make the heat feel more intense.
The infrared sauna provides a consistently dry heat. It usually feels gentler in the room, although you may still become very warm and sweat heavily.
Which one should I choose?
Choose traditional if you enjoy:
Choose infrared if you prefer:
The best sauna is the one you enjoy, tolerate safely and will actually use.
Is infrared automatically safer?
No.
Although infrared saunas generally operate at a lower air temperature, they still expose the body to heat and carry risks such as dehydration, dizziness and overheating.
The same safety rules apply to both.
Is there a cold shower?
Yes. The sauna area includes a shower that can be used cold for a refreshing post-sauna finish - or warm if that is more your style.
Cold is available. Heroics are optional.
Do I have to use the cold shower?
No. Cold exposure is optional. A cool or warm shower is completely acceptable.
Do not use very cold water if you feel faint, unwell or have a medical condition for which sudden temperature changes may be unsuitable.
Should I go straight from hot to cold?
Only if you feel well and are comfortable doing so. Move carefully, avoid rushing and stop if you become dizzy, breathless or uncomfortable.
Beginners may prefer to cool down gradually before using colder water.
What are the golden rules?
Shower first.
Bring two towels.
Sit on one.
Bring water.
Wear clean swim gear.
Keep your booking.
Leave on time.
Respect the heat.
Respect the space.
Respect the people sharing it.
